About

Youth Group Meetings

We gather for weekly youth group on Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m. At a typical meeting, we gather for a time of informal fellowship, we play games or grüde (hard to explain, and changes all the time), we pray together, and we study the Scriptures, understanding them in their original context before applying them to our everyday lives.

Bible Study

We encourage all of our students to read the Bible by themselves or with their families every day, since one of Scripture’s purposes is their personal growth. Another of its purposes is the corporate growth of believers, and so we emphasize small group Bible studies which meet during the week. We understand schedules fill up quickly, but often the greatest spiritual growth seems to occur in the context of a small group of believers who feel intimate enough to share personal struggles, to ask challenging questions, to pray for one another, and to engage in a more detailed study of God’s Word.

Retreats

We offer weekend retreats twice a school year for each group, where students can come apart from their everyday world together, in an informal setting, in order to continue their growth in the Lord (or to begin a relationship with Him if they have not yet done so). Times and locations for the fall and spring retreats are on the Events page (coming soon).

Summer

During the summer, the youth ministry is expanded with a Cape retreat, trips to amusement parks, pool parties, and other informal outings (lunches with Dana, putt-putt, lunches with Dana, more lunches with Dana, and the like). We also regularly welcome French interns for the better part of six weeks, compliments of our church missionary, Thierry Mirone (Natl. Director of Youth Ministries and World Missions, France Mission).  These interns have a deep love for Christ and impact our group in ways that are hard to put into words.  Positive.  Very positive.
